The funding supports the construction of an environmentally controlled clean-room manufacturing facility and the further expansion of operations into non-automotive target markets. “This grant puts SMR Australia in an excellent position to diversify into new markets, add value and provide innovative solutions to current and new customers,” said Mr Sandercock. SMR Australia is a multi-award-winning Australian company that has successfully manufactured and distributed products to the automotive industry for more than 25 years. Recently a new organisational division ‘SMR Technologies’ was established to support the growth of innovative developments in non-automotive industries. The experience and skills of SMR Australia have been transferred to leverage support of SMR Technologies product development in markets where innovative, precision, highly engineered moulded and electronic component combinations are required. “This in an exciting phase of business evolution that complements the automotive industry whilst leveraging skills into other industries,” said Mr Sandercock. Through collaboration with research partners SMR Australia provides a clear commercialisation pathway for innovative technologies.
