Your tasks:

SUMMARY: Execute all activities involved in providing customer quality product in a "just in time" environment. Activity include but are not limited to setting dies, starting presses, filling out paperwork, writing work instructions and maintain housekeeping and 5S, per department work instruction DWI7.5-1. Assist where needed based on the discretion of the shift supervisor/manager. Has an existing knowledge of all sections and presses in molding and is capable of starting all tools based on locked in PVS.

CRITICAL VITAL ACTIVITIES To assist the Process Engineers and SMR Manufacturing in achieving a high quality product at an efficient cycle by performing the following duties:

Safety Start up and shut down of all primary and auxiliary equipment in the molding department. Ensure compliance with safety policies, practices and procedures.

Set up and processing Set up injection mold dies in the press and start up tools to the process verification sheets. Be responsible for the quality of the product being molded (i.e. ensure of total customer satisfaction of your immediate customer, paint and assembly) React to all molding problems in a timely manner (usually within 60 seconds) Be able to clean up a die in the press after setting die and are set properly by the die setter, verifying all aspects of the tool and setup prior to attempting to make parts. Ensure all processing parameters fall within specification and perform process verifications at start up. Meet and exceed objectives for the molding department.

Perform root cause analysis of day-to-day problems by documenting properly and follow up for implementation of long-term solutions. Ensure all processing parameters fall within specification and perform process verifications at start up.

Paperwork Responsible to complete and maintain all processing forms (i.e. process verification sheets, tooling work orders, maintenance work orders, control plan matrix, etc.). Utilize automated production systems to accurately track downtime, scrap, uptime, and production. Maintain accounting of die performance during the shift and record any PM work or tooling maintenance work needed by issuing proper paperwork to shift manager. Ensure that all job functions are performed according to the posted work instructions.

Engineering Assist engineering with processing/tooling issues based on your experience and knowledge. Assist Process Engineering for all new products on an as needed basis. Must have basic understanding of polymers, olefins and engineered plastics (filled and unfilled). Must have functional understanding of injection mold tooling and nomenclature to communicate with engineering. Understanding of set up and troubleshooting of robotic automation and end of arm tooling, both primary and secondary. A general understanding of programming points for Sepro robots and be able to make adjustments as required to insure part quality and production standards are met. Must have a firm understanding of injection molding processing to start up press to the process sheets.

General Duties Able to work affectively in a team environment to accomplish common goals for the department and the business. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed. 5S in work cells, on presses, and for tools. Must have completed training for driving industrial forklifts and have a valid Michigan driver's license. Must have completed training for overhead crane operation. Must have completed lockout tag out training.

Your profile:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions. Must be able to deal with molding problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations on your own.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); with 5 years or more related experience in injection molding environment including processing, die setting and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to write legibly and clearly communicate both verbally and in written form.
