Switch Truck Driver

40+ hours | Marysville

Your tasks:

Responsible for transportation of product to and from all Marysville and Warren company plants. Material Handling support activities listed below in duties and responsibilities.

Transport of products between Plants 1, 2, 3, & 6 utilizing company switch truck. Completion of Daily Maintenance Record Log - create or remove Refueling and daily preventative maintenance and safety checks for switch truck and trailers Transport switch truck to service depot for routine maintenance, when required Operation of forklift to load and unload switch truck trailers Weekly clean up of shipping bays at all plants (sweep out dock wells) Assist with material handling duties including but not limited to: stretch wrap/banding of product for shipment or storage, kanban label purchased parts, utilization of scanners to support product movement to and from all internal locations and plant/facilities, product put away, order pulling, unload inbound product receipts, movement of customer returnable bins and any other duties as assigned by management. Provide backup to Materials Switch Truck Drivers for vacation, absence, etc

Your profile:

Ability to work weekends - Ability to work overtime

CDL license (Class A Commercial Drivers License) and MI drivers License. Licenses must be current, not revoked or suspended.

Must have valid medical card and/or be able to pass bi annual medical examinations.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Must be an experienced/licensed hi lo driver. Must be able to communicate clearly with general public and adhere to traffic regulations. Must submit to and pass a controlled substance and alcohol test once a year. Should have a minimum of 2 years experience in Shipping, Receiving and/or Material Control related function Should have basic knowledge and experience using RF scanners and bar coding Basic Math skills and computer literacy required. Working knowledge of completing daily maintenance of Material Handling Equipment and Switch Truck/Trailer logs required for this position

While performing the duties of this job; the employee is required to talk, listen, look backward while sitting forward, drive or operate material handling equipment and trucks/trailers in rain and snow, reach with hands and arms; type using fingers, stand, walk, sit, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift up to 35 pounds.
