Senior Key Account Manager

Based in Portchester, UK. We are currently looking for a Senior Key Account Manager.

 

The Senior Key Account Manager role has two core responsibilities: ensuring strong, collaborative customer relationships (Account Management), and growing SMR’s customer base, while identifying new business opportunities within the existing client portfolio (Business Development). Beyond the core objectives, there is an ongoing need to grow market, sector, competitor and product insight within the business, while ensuring that the Sales team is on-track to deliver against all internal Key Performance Indicators.

Your tasks:

Business Development

  • Deliver revenue and profit growth by securing new and replacement business to support achievement, or over-achievement, of sales objectives.
  • Lead development of programme contract details and requirements, ensuring alignment to a disciplined SDS programme kick-off process.
  • Working with internal stakeholders, develop customer strategies that reinforce and evolve the Company’s competitiveness and reputation in the sector.
  • Drive development and implementation of marketing activities on new products and technologies in conjunction with key internal stakeholders.

 

Account Management

  • Ensure customer relationships are managed pro-actively, enabling best-in-class (BIC) levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee new project programme execution with the objective of achieving timely delivery and outstanding customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the process to identify and respond to customers' requirements, engaging with all impacted internal stakeholders.
  • Drive annual economics and general business negotiations to secure, or exceed, the commercial performance of current business.

 

Business Analysis

  • Act as a key contributor to the Sales organisation’s annual Business Planning process.
  • Provide ongoing assessment of the Company's current commercial performance against budgeted targets.
  • Initiatie and manage the analytical activities necessary to achieve the local/global Sales organisation's business targets.
  • Report on performance of the local Customer Support Centre (CSC) against Global Sales KPI’s.
  • Drive the Bid Team process for new quotation activities, supporting the local Key Account Managers as required, in line with SDS Phase Zero deliverables.

 

Market Analysis

  • Define and execute ongoing market, technology and competitor intelligence, and socialise across key internal stakeholders.

 

Business Imperatives

  • Adhere to the day to day working practices and departmental procedures in accordance with the global sales standards.
  • Support the Director of UK Sales with any other duties deemed appropriate and required.

Your profile:

  • Computer literacy.
  • Automotive Tier 1 or OEM experience.
  • Account management/managerial experience.
  • Sales/business development experience.
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry.
  • Knowledge of selling processes and techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse information to support development of effective business recommendations and decision making.
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise activities to achieve customer and business objectives.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Highly numerate.
